Join Terri Schneider for an open water swim clinic that will change the way you prepare for your upcoming races. Are you curious about how to transfer your pool swim skills to the ocean or lake? Are you apprehensive about swimming in open water? Have you done some open water swimming but are looking to refine your speed and skills? Or, do you want to safely try open water swimming for the first time? Then these clinics are for you.

5-Week Open Water Swim Clinics for 2009
Due to popular demand Terri will offer a 5-week open water swim clinic in 2009. This clinic includes sessions preparing specifically for the Santa Cruz Sprint Triathlon as well as a practice swim around the Santa Cruz Wharf. Huge swim prep value! See below for times, dates and locations:
5-Week Swim Clinic:
- July 25, Saturday, 8:00 - 10:00 AM, Cowells Beach, Santa Cruz, CA, CLINIC FOR SANTA CRUZ SPRINT TRIATHLON
- August 1, Saturday, 9:00 – 10:15 AM, Seacliff Beach, Cement Ship, Aptos, CA
- August 15, Saturday, 9:00 – 10:15 AM, Cowells Beach, Santa Cruz, CA
- August 22, Saturday, 9:00 – 10:15 AM, Seacliff Beach, Cement Ship, Aptos, CA
- September 5, Saturday, 8:30 - 10:00 AM, PRACTICE WHARF SWIM, Santa Cruz Wharf, Santa Cruz, CA.
REGISTRATION: Cost for 5-Week clinic: $110 if you pre-register, $125 if you register at our first session.

Space is limited.
Need to miss a session? The registration price for
each clinic is the same for those attending all 5 sessions and for those
who may need to miss a session or two. We will not modify the price nor offer
a make up swim, if you need to miss a session. If you do need to miss a session
or so, you will still gain information value in attending the sessions your
personal schedule allows.
In addition to our swims the following topics will covered over the 5-Week
schedule:
- Working with negative and positive "self-talk" before and during open water swims and events
- Gear issues
- Efficient sighting for straight swimming
- Specific techniques to work with fear and apprehension
- Training tips to swim faster in open water
- Drafting techniques
- Working with waves and swell

Cost: General Registration - $45/$50 on event day. Participant in Santa Cruz Sprint Triathlon - $40/$45 on event day

Practice Wharf Swim for the Sentinel and Big Kahuna Triathlons
Saturday, September 5, 8:30 - 10:00 am 2009
Main Beach, Santa Cruz, CA
Cost: $40 if you pre-register, $45 if you register on event day
This is a practice swim around the Santa Cruz Wharf with some included tips and instruction on how to tackle this swim effectively on race day. We will have Lifeguard safety paddlers for this swim.
